Compression of GHG emission from Rainfed and Irrigated Agriculture – A case study of Gujarat
- 13 crops in the pair (Irrigated and Rainfed) were studied from agronomic practices of view across Gujarat with individual detail of 77 farmers.
- GHG emission in CO2 eq. per acre per season in Rainfed is 120 Kg whereas in Irrigated is 630 Kg.
- To 100 Kg under Rainfed emits 24 Kg CO2 eq. wherein Irrigated it is 70 Kg.
- The report was prepared to establish the fact that rainfed farming has an advantage than irrigated farming in this matter.
